Project Description

Subitizing is one of the components of the Math Diet. Conceptual subitizing is quickly recognizing how many without counting but you may see parts of units to help you recognize the total amount.

Conceptual subitizing can become more complex by using more units within units. But the quantities can still be quickly recognized because they are organized into familiar arrangements or patterns, like dots on dice, ten-frames, or arrays.

For more information about subitizing, check out our blog: Subitizing: On the Road to Mental Math.
